The Haunting of Hill House season two: Everything you need to know
Remember just how downright scary Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House was? We’re still having nightmares about the scene where Bent Neck Lady Nell, looking all creepy with her rotting, sunken face, appears literally out of nowhere when her sisters are fighting in the car and lets out a blood-curdling scream. Well, show creator Mike Flanagan has said the second season is going to be even more terrifying than that.
“It’s scarier. It’s a lot more frightening, just on a visceral level,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
After Netflix confirmed the new series back in February, Mike has also been sharing lots of other exciting details about the sequel. Here’s everything you need to know:
What is The Haunting of Hill House season two about?
The second season is actually called The Haunting of Bly Manor and is inspired by a number of Henry James’s ghost stories, including 1898 horror novella The Turn of the Screw, which follows the story of a governess who is looking after two children, Flora and Miles, at Bly Manor. Before long, she starts to see strangers around the property and the grounds, and we all know what to expect next…
When asked if season two will have any links to season one, Mike told EW: “There are definitely going to be things that will set off that little dopamine rush that those kind of connections create. But it’s not a direct connection from a story point of view.”
