From fish fry to eggs: What coronavirus isolation ward menu looks like
As novel coronavirus cases spread across India, hundreds of people are being put in hospital isolation every day.
Patients tested positive and those who have shown symptoms of the virus (results awaited) are being monitored in these isolation wards.
Kerala was one of the first states in the country to open isolation wards for Covid-19 patients. The state government, in a bid to break the taboos regarding the government hospitals, has released its food menu for the patients in isolation wards.
According to Ernakulam district collector S Suhas, the Kalamassery government medical college offers 2 separate menus, one for Indian nationals and another for foreigners.
Delicacies like dosa, sambar are served to Indians as breakfast; 2 boiled eggs and a couple of oranges are also on the menu. Some tea and a bottle of water to wash it off.
This will be followed by a fruit juice at 10:30 am and lunch with includes chapati (Roti), Keralan meal with a fish fry and mineral water.
