Alia Bhatt turned down the offer to romance Prabhas in ‘Saaho’ and here is why
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt will be making her South debut with SS Rajamouli’s period-actioner “RRR” (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) and she will be essaying the crucial role of Sita opposite Ram Charan. However, not many know that the bombshell turned down a big Telugu project in 2017. According to reports, the makers of ‘Saaho’ have approached Alia to play the leading lady opposite Prabhas before zeroing on Shraddha Kapoor. Even her mentor Karan Johar has reportedly suggested the leggy lass to take up the role.
However, grapevine suggests that considering the lack of importance for the heroine’s role in the film and the short screen time compared to protagonist Prabhas, Alia has rejected Saaho. A source told a leading portal, “Alia is busy setting a league of her own by taking up some really good performance-oriented roles. So at a stage when she’s setting such a bright example as far as her film choices are concerned, she doesn’t want to break the chain by doing a film where she is more like a supporting cast. Even her family approved of her decision and have no regrets whatsoever.”
Recently, Rajamouli revealed the reason for signing the ‘Gully Boy’ actress for RRR. He said “I need an actress who can stand her ground between Tarak and Charan both of whom are extremely talented actors. She can be innocent, vulnerable yet be extremely resilient. That is the reason I went for her.” The 27-year-old actress has a pipeline of interesting films like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Brahmāstra and Sadak 2.
