TV shows working towards providing fresh content to audiences
While film units are finding it difficult to cope up with the Covid situation, the TV units are making sure that their audience gets fresh content and therefore moving their sets and shoots outside of Maharashtra so that they can cater to their respective audiences.
JD Majethia who has moved the shooting of his serial Wagle Ki Duniya to Silvassa said that he was in two minds to shift the shooting but adds, “The audiences of my show were asking for fresh and new content and my serial connects with the middle class and is about the middle class so I moved to Silvassa.”
Majethia adds, “I thought I need to tell a story that connects and is relatable so I have the Wagle family and their neighbors go on a holiday to a resort and lockdown is announced so how they cope up with the situation which is told in such hilarious way will bring a smile to the face of the viewers which is much needed in these trying times. We consider ourselves to be frontline workers and fall in the essential services bracket and will do everything possible to bring a smile to the audience’s face.”
Some reality shows like Indian Idol too have moved the shooting of the show to Daman as they don’t want to break the rhythm of the show which is considered to be one the most popular show this year. Madhuri Dixit and other judges too want the viewer of Dance Deewane to not shift focus and therefore insisting that they will continue to bring new content for the audience. Shilpa Shetty’s Super Dancer has enough bank and has no plans of shifting the location of the shoot.
But those who planned to shift location at the last minute are definitely facing travel issues due to strict rules imposed by the government of Maharashtra.
