olive oil or extra-virgin coconut oil (melted)
pure maple syrup
turbinado sugar (we used Sugar In The Raw)
unsweetened coconut flakes
raw sunflower seeds
Want to switch up your mix-ins for fresh flavor? Try these tasty options:
Omit sugar, coconut, and pepitas. Add ¼ cup coriander seeds (lightly crushed) and ½ cup sliced almonds to the bowl along with oats.
SWEET AND SPICY GRANOLA
Omit coconut and increase sunflower seeds and pepitas to 1½ cups each. Bake granola per recipe instructions, then toss with 1½ tsp ground cinnamon and 1 tsp chipotle chile powder when it comes out of the oven.
Omit coconut. Add 2 Tbsp each cumin seeds and fresh thyme leaves and 1 tsp ground cinnamon to the bowl along with oil and maple syrup.
