The ideal time to consume breakfast, lunch and dinner to lose weight
By now we all know food plays a major role in losing or gaining weight. If you consume a high-calorie meal and do not burn those calories (by exercising), you will end up gaining weight.
But did you know, not only what you eat but the time you consume it also makes a lot of difference? Not all the foods can be consumed at any time of the day. One has to be mindful of what they are eating and when.
The three major meals of the day breakfast, lunch and dinner have their own importance. To reap the maximum benefits and lose weight, here’s the right time you should be consuming the three major meals of the day.
Breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day. It helps kickstart your metabolism and provides you with energy to proceed for the day.
Ideally for breakfast, one must consume a mix of protein, carbs and fat. Talking about the timing of breakfast, there should be a gap of at least 12 hours between your last meal and the time you eat your breakfast. This should be followed when one wants to lose weight.
The best way would be to end your day with detox water and have your breakfast in the morning 15 minutes after having lukewarm water. For example, if you have your dinner at 8:30 pm, you should have your breakfast around 8:30 am.
Lunchtime appears to have the least impact on weight loss, despite being the biggest meal of the day for many. If you want to have anything that’s not very healthy, lunchtime is when you can have it. But make sure to have unhealthy food only in small quantities, just so to satisfy your cravings.
If you are eating your breakfast at 8:00 am, you should try and have your lunch during the early afternoon, around 1-2 pm. This will allow your body to digest the meal properly before you eat your dinner.
Experts recommend people to have dinner as early as possible. It’s considered ideal to have your dinner 2-3 hours before hitting the bed. This allows your body to burn off some calories before you lie down to sleep.
It is said never to eat dinner and directly go to bed as it can lead to indigestion and make you feel bloated the next morning.
With a heavy stomach, you won’t be able to get a restful sleep, which can ultimately interrupt your weight loss plan. If you are trying to lose weight, have your dinner around 8:00 pm. This will help you burn some calories before you sleep and also keep your blood sugar levels in check.
