Inside Kiara Advani’s collection of designer handbags

The past year has made Kiara Advani a breakout star. Her performances in Kabir Singh (2019), Good Newwz (2019) and most recently Guilty (2020) on Netflix made her a box-office favourite. Advani’s personal style is relaxed, au courant and relatable like any other millennial actor’s. What makes it special is that Advani keeps things current by way of her accessories—especially her collection of designer handbags.

Teeming with of-the-moment It-bags, Advani’s handbag collection is a mix of belt bags, backpacks and totes from legacy brands. She likes to carry her favourites on repeat, thus making a case for investing in arm candies that are more timeless than trendy. One look at her collection and there’s no denying that Advani is a Dior fan girl. She sports her black leather Dior Saddle both as a belt bag and crossbody (with an embroidered strap). Her black and white Dior book tote is her girl-about-town go-to—seen on her arm everywhere from the airport and the gym to meetings. As far as roomy totes go, Givenchy is another top choice, and her collection includes the reversible Antigona in a combination of silver and cobalt blue.

When she does give into logomania, Advani almost always chooses a modern silhouette—such as the Louis Vuitton Palm Springs backpack mini which was her plus-one for her walk in the African wilderness. Or a quilted Chanel crossbody with gold and pearl hardware that she teamed with an all-white satin bralette and skirt set on her birthday last year.

When it comes to Indian wear, poltis that match her lehenga (most often by Manish Malhotra) win her favour. On other days, when she’s in the mood for something more whimsical, you’ll spot her with a belt bag around looped around her skirt and crop top—such as the Papa Don’t Preach silver chain bag she wore with a lilac lehenga set from the label.
